KME Webbing and Tapes Manufacturers (Pty) Ltd was established in 2020 and, in 2021, acquired the Springs manufacturing facility from Braitex Tensilon (Pty) Ltd.

Braitex Tensilon, originally founded in 1948 by the late George Rosochacki, was a pioneer in the production of narrow woven and knitted fabrics. In 1987, its Springs-based facility was relocated to Atlantis in the Western Cape.

In 2008, Braitex Tensilon expanded by acquiring Wikitex (Pty) Ltd, a Springs-based company specializing in industrial narrow woven fabrics. This acquisition led to the re-establishment of the Springs facility in 2009 as a dedicated manufacturing site for Braitex Tensilon.

With over 75 years of combined industry expertise, KME Webbing and Tapes Manufacturers continues to drive innovation and set new standards in the narrow fabric industry.

All products are manufactured in strict accordance with customer-approved specifications, which include details such as color, tolerances, tensile strength, and elongation. Our comprehensive quality assurance system ensures complete peace of mind by conducting continuous checks at every stage of the process—starting even before production begins.

Each product undergoes a detailed analysis in our laboratory, where the raw materials are verified to meet specified requirements. Any non-conforming materials are immediately rejected. To eliminate the risk of oversight, quality approvals are not granted by a single individual; instead, a dual-signature process is implemented to ensure thorough review and accountability.

Throughout the manufacturing process, both operators and quality control personnel actively monitor production to maintain compliance with all specifications. For high-specification products, tensile strength and elongation tests are conducted at the start of the finishing phase, proactively identifying and preventing any potential non-conformances.
